This health and safety awareness course online, for people working in construction and civil engineering, covers how to keep you and your colleagues safe when working on-site, how to spot potential on-site hazards and includes practical advice.

What the health and safety awareness exam involves:
- You’ll sit a 30-minute multiple-choice exam
- There are 25 questions to answer: 20 worth 1 mark, 5 worth 2 marks. All questions require 1 answer only.
- The pass mark is of 25 out of 30
- Before you start, you’ll be required to present a valid photographic ID (a passport or UK/EU driving licence)
- Individuals aged 16 to 18 years old will need a parent or guardian to attend the exam check-in process with Pearson VUE.

Three failed exam attempts
To support learners who may be experiencing technical issues or require additional support / services, exam attempts have been capped at three.
After three failed attempts learners will see a Contact Us box instead of Book Now. This provides access to the eCourses team who will work with the learner to understand any issues or identify additional needs, then recommend next steps.
Our aim is to ensure learners have the best chance of passing and get the support they need to do so.
Your achievement
Upon passing your exam, you’ll receive:
- Access to your 'score report' from our examination provider, Pearson VUE, showing your pass mark.
- A digital certificate, confirming you have successfully completed the course. This will be available to download from your CITB eCourses Dashboard and is valid for five years.
The certificate is equivalent to the Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment and can be used along with the
